I don’t know if there’s something in my psyche or whether it’s karma from a previous life. Or whether something happened to me as a very very young person and I’ve drawn a veil over it because that sometimes happens, doesnit it? But I really do have a problem with people of negroid features.

Good evening, this is EBC Tonight. I’m Rebecca Shepherd. Tonight, we’re dedicating the first half of the program to one man. Stefan Sailor. A previously unknown, and some would say radical figure, Sai [audio skip] influence has grown ever since the Black Friday phenomenon began four years ago. His controversial views have arguably propelled him from obscurity into the Oval Office. I started by asking him about whether his organization, United Mankind, was a hate group as many critics allege.
SAILOR
I take issue with the characterization of United Mankind as a ‘hate group’. We don’t hate anyone! We just want to preserve our society. If anything, we love our people. Heck, if anything we’re a love group.
SHEPHERD
And yet you’re on the record advocating for a separate nation for, quote, your people.
SAILOR
Our main concern right now is the Black Friday phenomenon. The phenomenon shows us that our society - our politics as usual - none of it works! The phenomenon is accelerating the erasure of our culture. We must do something - we can’t sit on our hands like President Hensley did.
SHEPHERD
To be clear, Mr. Sailor, what do you mean by cultural erasure?
SAILOR
We all come from distinct cultures, Rebecca. All cultures have value and should be respected, am I right?
SHEPHERD
I understand that sentiment, but what I’m asking is -
SAILOR
Look, if we can’t agree on that basic premise, then how can anyone accuse me, or anyone in United Mankind, of running a hate group?
SHEPHERD
Mr. Sailor, I’m suggesting that the premise you’re advocating is just a front for a white supremacist ideology. As the President-elect, surely you understand the concerns around your views?
SAILOR
Those are just unfounded conspiracy theories. Is there anything wrong with preferring your culture to others? Your culture’s food? Your culture’s people? The real conspiracy is this campaign to erase and replace us.
SHEPHERD
And see, that’s where I have to challenge you Mr. Sailor. If anything, doesn’t the whole American experiment disprove your point? We have many people of different cultures sharing aspects of their culture together. Also, there is no evidence that the Black Friday phenomenon is part of any conspiracy to do anything. More to the point, which culture does it erase?
SAILOR
Look, we don’t know any of that yet. But historically, even in America, have you ever noticed how the Chinese people live in one place and the Ethiopians live in another? There’s nothing wrong with preferring to be among your own people.
SHEPHERD
Again, Mr. Sailor, I have to challenge that point. The reason that American cities had ethnic enclaves wasn’t because people wanted to live next to their own. It was because of rampant housing discrimination. For decades, America literally had a Chinese Exclusion Act in force. Are you saying that you want to return to that era?
SAILOR
I am simply saying that individuals who share a cultural affinity should be able to live with other people who share that cultural affinity. If they want to. They shouldn’t be forced to live next to people with whom they have nothing in common.
SHEPHERD
And the Black Friday phenomenon keeps you from doing that … how?
SAILOR
It goes back to my original point. When people get affected by the phenomenon, their circumstances change completely. We’ve heard stories of families torn apart by this phenomenon. Kids run off from their parents. Husbands run from their wives. We don’t want that for anyone. We want to surround the people who have transformed with a caring society. That’s why my organization started several Support Houses across the United States. We’re doing this to help people once they’ve transformed and during their quarantine. How can you call us a hate group for wanting to help?
SHEPHERD
You supported the Harris Act, including its quarantine provisions. You did so even though the scientific consensus concluded that the Black Friday phenomenon is not dangerous or even contagious.
SAILOR
And I still support the quarantine provision now. It gives us time to identify people who have been changed, and support their reintegration into society.
SHEPHERD
These support houses will get federal funds under the Harris Act, correct?
SAILOR
When I was a candidate, most of our support actually came from private citizens. But yes, as President I will support them with federal funding.
SHEPHERD
There have been allegations that these support houses are just recruitment centers for your organization. Especially United Mankind’s youth wing.
SAILOR
Have you ever tried to herd moody teenagers going through puberty AND the Black Friday phenomenon? They need structure, and we provide it. Again, these allegations about indoctrination are just wild conspiracy theories. We aren’t afraid of a little controversy!
SHEPHERD
Let’s talk about Tenebra, the drug that allegedly reverses the Black Friday phenomenon. There’s been reports that, at some of your support houses, Tenebra is mandatory for residents.
SAILOR
Now those have been isolated incidents. We certainly wouldn’t want to force anyone to take Tenebra if they don’t want to. But we want to support people who do choose to take the drug. It is quite expensive after all.
SHEPHERD
What did United Mankind do with those ‘isolated incidents’?
SAILOR
We educated the staff and made it clear in our policies that taking Tenebra is up to each individual.
SHEPHERD
That’s certainly not the policy in the higher levels of your organization.
SAILOR
We’re a private organization. The internal policies that govern our officers and management are naturally different.
SHEPHERD
Has anyone on your staff suffered any side effects from taking Tenebra?
SAILOR
What side effects would those be? Tenebra is actually quite safe. It modifies only a small part of your genetic code.
SHEPHERD
Well, at least one of your deputies has been treated for severe melanoma once they started the drug. There’s a growing body of evidence that Tenebra increases an individual’s risk of severe illnesses. Cancer being at the top of that list.
SAILOR
I can’t comment on someone’s health issues. But look, Tenebra has been shown to be safe and-
SHEPHERD
Has it really, Mr. Sailor? The drug was rushed to market and approved quite quickly all because of the Harris Act. But it’s been shown that users have to keep taking it indefinitely because, otherwise, the Black Friday phenomenon reasserts itself.
SAILOR
What I mean to say is that the underlying technology behind Tenebra - namely the gene drive - has been shown to be effective in many instances.
SHEPHERD
Then there’s the fact that Congress banned the sale of Tenebra to people of African descent. A ban you support, because quote, its effect on non-Europeans warrants further study. End quote.
SAILOR
And all of that is true. Look, there’s no reason to believe Tenebra is unsafe for its intended purpose. It was never intended for non-Europeans. Plus, even when the Black Friday phenomenon reasserts itself and an individual has to be on Tenebra indefinitely, there’s no reason to think the drug will cause any long-term harm. I myself wouldn’t hesitate to take Tenebra. And besides, everything involves risk. I would risk almost anything to remain as I am.
SHEPHERD
Even when it means you risk slowly poisoning yourself? The Black Friday phenomenon has been shown to be harmless, but Tenebra has been linked to increased risk of cancer and other serious illnesses. Isn’t this a case where the cure is worse than the disease?
SAILOR
I have the right to make that choice for myself.
SHEPHERD
But you’re not making the decision for yourself, are you Mr. Sailor? Your organization requires Tenebra for anyone in a leadership role. Now that you are President, will you mandate Tenebra for anyone? For members of your cabinet? For members of your party?
SAILOR
If people don’t want to take Tenebra, they don’t have to. They don’t have to work for United Mankind. They don’t have to serve in my cabinet. It goes back to my earlier point Rebecca. People should be free to be around like-minded people. So if you’ve been affected by the phenomenon, and can’t afford Tenebra, joining United Mankind is definitely one way to get what you need.

As President, I will not make Tenebra mandatory. But I will create support communities for people who do take it, and want to be around others who have. I will also support those who decide not to take Tenebra.
SHEPHERD
Last question. Are you taking Tenebra right now, Mr. Sailor?

No, I haven’t been affected by the phenomenon.

Since the founding of our republic, America has been a beacon to the world. In that time, we forged a unique identity based on shared values, a common outlook, and a commitment to each other.
America is a great melting pot because we do not require you to believe in a specific god or speak a certain language. As I speak to you right now, my words are being translated into sixty-seven different languages all spoken right here in the United States. Even in the great melting pot, individuals retain the cultural identity. That is what makes Americans unique in the world. Our respect for individuality.

And that is my theme today. The individual. You. I am very interested in you. Not as a part of a ethnic group or club or clique. Just you in your quotidian glory.

Are you satisfied in your work? Are you anxious about your future? Are you worried about your children?

For too long, America has been the land of interest group politics. By dividing us on race, or class, or education, the elites have wielded power over us for centuries. They’ve tried to take away your right to vote simply because you didn’t go to the right college or don’t support the right interest group. They’ve never cared about you, the individual.

My administration will return its focus to you. Not you as the American worker. Not you as the Hispanic American. Not you as the educated professional. Just you.

Some of you have heard that I hold, quote, radical views unquote. This is only true because I am radically dedicated to individual freedom. United Mankind is a collection of radical individuals. It is this premise - our reverence for radical individuality - that frightens our opponents and inspires our supporters.

Even if my views were, as they say, radical then what difference do they make? I am just one individual. Congress doesn’t have to listen to me. The courts don’t have to listen to me. You don’t have to listen to me. As an individual, I cannot force anything on anyone else. I can only try to convince you by reason and by my actions.
So I ask you - examine my reasoning. Judge my actions and their consequences. This is your power as an individual. If you didn’t know that already, my administration is determined to show you just how much power you have.

I spent many years in the private sector creating special enterprise zones for like-minded individuals to start and run their own businesses. As president, I want to expand this focus on the individual. I want to make special housing zones to show you that you have the power to live where you want, with whoever you want. I want to remove federal roadblocks and give you the power to choose which business to patron and which customers to serve. I want to give you the power to live your life as you see fit. All this power usurped by the federal government belongs to you, the individual. As president, I pledge to return all this power to you.

We are on the threshold of a new era. A society where you are free of the artificial constraints of race, class, or education. A truly free society where individuals structure their lives exactly as they would like. A society where you and other like-minded individuals are free to come together in any way you want and govern yourselves as you see fit - as a business, as a church, even as a family. All without the looming presence of the government.
